Welcome

“Paediatric hand” has always been a niche topic, that attracts research and scientific commitment of only a few chosen specialists. However wonderful experiences such as the Zurich 2008 Symposium have proven the great interest of many “borderline” specialists, including paediatricians, geneticists and psychologists but even social workers, nursery school teachers and families.

I have thus accepted the generous invitation made by Daniel Weber and all the Zurich panel to carry on and offer all our European friends the 2^nd European Symposium on Pediatric Hand Surgery, with the aim of promoting an annual appointment in different European Countries, a precious instrument for experts to confront one another on problems that are still waiting to be solved. At the same time it will be a means to welcome the experience of those that have just started approaching this wonderful world and need to compare information with experts in the field of paediatric hand surgery. Surgeons and therapists will be face to face during the sessions discussing their major doubts and they will have an opportunity to help younger colleagues find the answers they need to treat their patients in the best possible way.

You will be welcomed in our beautiful Milano, that is getting ready for the 2015 Expo. The Symposium will be held in Milano University, in the historical centre of the city, welcomed by the Italian Hand Surgery Society, of which I am Next President, for unforgettable moments of culture, science, research, analysis, face-to-face and learning.
